Design once.
Build many.

Your best designs shouldn't stop at one client. Put them on Gage with a licensing fee built in, and steel fabricators produce them for buyers wherever the network reaches. Every home built from your design pays you.

How it works

Your design. Their production. Your fee on every build.

Gage already connects builders with the steel fabricators who price and build their frames. Architects add the piece that comes before: a finished design, ready to order, with your licensing fee as a line in the price.

You do the part you are best at, once. The fabricators do the part that repeats.

1

Upload your plans once

Floor plans, elevations and sections as a PDF plan set, or an IFC model if you have one. Gage reads them the way it reads every plan on the platform.

2

Set your licensing fee

You decide what a build of each design costs to license. The fee is built into every quote, so the buyer sees one price and never negotiates it separately.

3

Fabricators build the homes

When a buyer orders your design, the steel fabricator nearest the site prices it, engineers the frame for that site, and produces it as labeled cold-formed steel panels.

4

You are paid on every build

Each home built from your design pays your licensing fee. Gage keeps the record of every build licensed against it.

A new revenue channel

Income most practices don't have.

Revenue without more hours

Most architects are paid once for a design, by the hour or by the project. A licensed design keeps earning every time it is built, long after the drawings are done.

No production to run

Fabricators handle shop drawings, engineering for the site, fabrication and delivery. You are not managing a factory, a crew or a construction schedule.

Built the way you drew it

Cold-formed steel panels are cut to length in a shop, from the model, to tight tolerances. Walls come out straight and square on every build, not just the first one.

Not tied to your zip code

A design on Gage is not limited to the clients who can find your office. As fabricators join the network, the same design can be built wherever they are.

One design, many builds

The math of a licensed design.

A custom commission pays once. A design licensed on Gage pays each time a buyer orders it. The fee is yours to set, per design, and it travels with the design to whichever fabricator builds it.

An illustration, not a forecast. You set the fee; how many homes are built depends on the design and the buyers.

Your design stays yours

You keep the copyright. A design is licensed per build: the plans go to the fabricator building that home, for that home, and every build is recorded against your design.

Engineering stays local

Each build's frame is engineered for its own site, codes and snow, wind and seismic loads by the fabricator's engineer. Your design sets the architecture; the site sets the structure.

Where this stands

The architect program is new. Builders and fabricators are on Gage today, starting in the US, and the fabricator network is growing region by region. Create your account and you can upload designs and set your fees straight away. A person at Gage approves each new account before its designs are listed for fabricators, usually within two business days.
